LONE TREFOIL GUILD SCOTLAND
Eight members of the Lone Trefoil Guild along with Anne Aitken, chairperson, and Margot Grosset, guest speaker, took part in a recent teleconference on 24 February 2010.
On a very wintry evening, Anne welcomed everyone to the meeting noting that most parts of Scotland were represented.
Members shared their experiences of attending Launch Parties and Thinking Day Activities/Services. These varied from Hazel, in Edinburgh being involved with the Canadian Celebrations whilst visiting her daughter, others were involved in planting trees and flower beds , church services were held and Mary Stewart, Western Isles was presented with her 50 year Service Badge by the Lord Lieutenant of the Western Isles at the Launch lunch in September 2009. Mary is Archivist for Western Isles.
Margot Grosset then gave a very interesting talk on the Story Gathering project. She encouraged us all to become involved in our own area or to send her our stories about our Guiding Days.
Some members will be attending the Scottish AGM and Gala Dinner at Aviemore in May when Anne explained that at the AGM there would a Fashion Show of uniforms from the Archives and a powerpoint presentation of historic photos. A real trip Down Memory Lane!
Everyone agreed that this was an excellent way of keeping in touch with one another - at least once a year.
