Hello to all Scottish Trefoil Guild Members.
Thank you so much to all our Scottish Trefoil Guild members for your warm welcome as I begin this new role as your Scottish Chairman. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know our executive members and look forward to the years ahead and the new opportunities we will be able to share.
I have had a very busy few months attending the UK executive, chairing my first Scottish executive and meeting guild members in Ayrshire and Glasgow and now look forward to meet guild members across the country.
During this summer I have attended the opening ceremony of the WAGGGS conference where delegates from 111 countries attended the weeks activities. They all very much enjoyed the gift of tablet made by out Trefoil members!!
It was wonderful to have this conference come to Scotland and very exciting to play even a small part in it. At the end of the week I hosted a group of four delegates from Thailand and we had a super time exploring Glasgow, Culzean, Burns Country, Largs, Nardinis and the west coast of Scotland.
I have also played a supporting part in the SS11 camp at Netherurd where Geocaching and hill walking were led by Trefoil members.
In June I was honored and amazed when Dinah Faulds presented the Laurel award to me at the Scottish Annual Event I would like to thank all those who kindly send me messages or cards of congratulations.
So, on to another year. I look forward to meeting many of you over the next months and to hearing about the growth of the TG and all your activities. I also look forward to planning with you the expansion of the Trefoil Guild in Scotland in the years ahead.
My good wishes to you all for 2011 - 2012
Elizabeth
